The region of the Niederrhein Chamber of Industry and Commerce Duisburg-Wesel-Kleve includes the western Ruhr region and from the Rheinschiene to the Netherlands border. The City of Duisburg Niederrhein and the districts of Wesel and Kleve belong to the region. Approx. 1.3m inhabitants live in 30 cities and municipalities in an area of 2,507 km². A dramatic structural change has been underway in the region for years, moving away from formerly dominant mining area to new industrial structures, from large to middle-sized companies, from manufacturing businesses to logistics, trade and services.
